Along the
in Perkasie
Bucks County, PA
The east branch of the Perkiomen Creek flows west from Bedminster and East Rockhill Townships and through the Borough of Perkasie on its way to join the Schuylkill River. The creek is a wonderful asset to Perkasie. Below ducks are out for a swim on a mild December day.
The action is a little more lively during the canoe races at community day.
Springtime reflections
The suspenion foot bridge over Perkiomen Creek was built in the 1930s by the Federal Works Projects Administration. It is actually two bridges with an island in the middle.
The bridge gets lots of activity on community day.
The South Perkasie Covered Bridge sits over dry land in Lenape Park along the Perkiomen Creek. The bridge was actually used to cross Pleasent Spring Creek a few blocks away but was moved to the park as a final resting place.
Pleasant Spring Creek joins the Perkiomen Creek near Market Street.
There is an asphalt foot and bike trail along the creek but there are also some areas a little more natural.
