5268 acre Nockamixon State Park is the largest park in Bucks County. The park encompasses Lake Nockamixon, the reservoir created by the damming of Tohickon Creek in the 1960s. Nestled in a valley, the park is surrounded by the wooded hills of upper Bucks County. Adjacent to a large tract of state game land, including Haycock Mountain, there is a lot to offer the outdoors man.

Sailing and fishing are just two activities in the park. The savvy angler might hope to catch walleye, bass, pickerel, catfish, carp or even a musky.
There is a large marina for boats up to 24 feet and a maximum of 20 horsepower.
There are many picnic groves, with lots of room to spread out.
There are paved trails for roller blading, biking and hiking, or maybe you would prefer to be off the beaten track.

Nockamixon State Park is a great place for bird watching. Although we didn't see any bald eagles the day these pictures were taken, the park and the surrounding area does offer an excellent habitat for these large birds making a comeback.
The boat launch area on the south side of the lake may be less crowded then the other areas.
Sometimes it is just as much fun watching someone else fish (or fall out of a canoe) as it is doing it yourself.

There are several cabins available for rent in the park. These cabins have modern conveniences with a rustic feel.
