Saturday night April 4th, 2009 the folks of Morrisville, young and old, rocked all night long. The festivities were held at the Morrisville Senior Center on Cleveland Avenue. This rock and roll happening was not aimed at the seniors, that is just were it was held. You know like going to a dance at the local fire hall, you don't have to be a fireman to go. Well the seniors came early anyway and the rest of the party crowd showed up after 8:00. But don't you know the seniors, and everybody, danced and partied all night long. It just goes to show you, Morrisville Rocks. The night started with "At Home with the Jones's" featuring Todd White, Paul Tollini and Kim Jackson. After the Jones's we got a real a real treat with a performance by the one time "Invisible Band" fronted by Morrisville rocker Mike Byrne accompanied by old friends Harold Miller on bass and Hub Kelch on Drums. Then came a great performance by "The Self Promotion Band" featuring several Morrisville rock legends. James Knepp handled vocals, harmonica and theatrics with Donnie (The King of Rock and Roll) helping out on drums and visual effects. Mike Byrne knocked em dead (as usual) with his extraordinary guitar playing and vocals. Pat Soriero kicked butt on the bottom with his powerful bass lines. Of course it was Hub Kelch playing drums that kept the beat going. But there was one more shining star making his debuted playing with this allstar cast. Patrick Soriero Jr. was the youngest player by far but wowed the crowd with his superb guitar work. They had the dance floor packed with songs by The Monkeys, Herman's Hermits and Jay and the Americans but it was the Donnie original "I've Fallen" that really had them going and "Monkey vs Robot" that really had them wondering. Finally RoadKill finished off the night with Mike Cyran, Harold Miller and Pat Soriero taking turns on bass. It really was a great party and that is because Morrisville rocks.
