This picture of two mallard ducks in the canal was sent in by long time Morrisville resident Jim Brewer. It just goes to show, you should always carry your camera when taking a walk around Morrisville. The textures and colors of the ducks, leaves and ripples in the water make a very interesting picture. Thanks Jim.
Speaking of the canal, these pictures were send to us by Dave Rivella and really shows good community spirit in cleaning up one of Morrisville's coolest assets, the Delaware Canal. This is what Dave wrote:
You know I love our canal in Morrisville. I recently took part in the canal clean up.I had spread the word to my union brothers and the result was the biggest turn out ever. Ron Scheese our Borough supervisor was almost speechless. Normally a hand full of residents come out to help. We had 20 tradesmen come out, Electricians from local 269, carpenters from local 1462, and operating engineers from local 542 were happy to give some time back to our community and help with the effort.

Not only was Dave involved with the canal clean up but he was also involved with the Delaware River clean up.
Here are some pics from last Saturdays River clean up hosted by Morrisville's EAC. We once again had the biggest turn out do to all of my fellow tradesmen volunteering. I believe 20 electricians, carpenters, and operating engineers showed up to help along with fellow Morrisville residents. You can see from the pile of garbage it was a successful event.
Thanks Dave for helping to make Morrisville a better place.
This section of Morrisville along the Delaware at the south end of town has seen a lot of local history dating back to colonial times. It is a shame that this is also one of the trashiest. There is a little river front park here that should be enjoyed by all of the Morrisville residents. So it is with a very large thank you to all these guys that worked hard to make this spot a little nicer for everybody, and thanks Dave Rivella for the pictures.
