Jim Murray is a life long Morrisville resident. He, and wife Jane have been Morrisville advocates for many years. Not only are they involved in the Historic Morrisville Society, many other Morrisville groups and endeavors, but Jim has also written two books on Morrisville history. These books were written from the hometown perspective, as Jim is truly involved in Morrisville's past, present and future. These books are filled of wonderful pictures and lots of great Morrisville information. Anyone who has ever lived in Morrisville should have copies of both these books on their bookshelves.
The first book, "Morrisville: Images of America" featuring the 1955 Morrisville Little League World Series Champions on the cover, may no longer be in publication. If you can't find a copy to buy, talk to your neighbors, maybe they have a copy you can to borrow. It is definitely worth the search.

After the great success of the first book, the people of Morrisville wanted a second book. Again Jim Murray stepped up to the plate and hit another home run. This book is titled "Morrisville: Yesterday and Today", and features a picture of James Gafgen (another life long Morrisville resident, and sculptor of the statue of Robert Morris at the Robert Morris Plaza) on the cover. Along with more great pictures and descriptions, this book also compares pictures of the past, with modern day pictures.
You can purchase these books at Cunningham's Hardware Store and Burn's Pharmacy on Pennsylvania Avenue, or at the Squirrels's Nest restaurant on Bridge Street.
